The 2024 Jesup Wagon Revitalization Grant Recipients!

We are pleased to announce that Democracy Green has awarded a total of $30,000 in grants to two outstanding community organizations in Brunswick County.

 

These grants are intended to support projects addressing food insecurity, farming, and land conservation, benefiting at-risk community members in unincorporated areas.

 

The first recipient of our support is The Royal Oak Concerned Citizens (ROCCA), who have been honored with the Democracy Green 2024 Jesup Wagon Revitalization Legacy Award. ROCCA's history of community service and successful advocacy, including halting a landfill expansion project in 2011, has left a lasting impact on Brunswick County.

 

The second awardee of the Democracy Green 2024 Jesup Wagon Newcomer Award is Rural Route Community Development, Inc. This organization will utilize the grant to enhance their garden operations and food distribution initiatives, providing fresh produce to combat food insecurity in the Piney Grove Community.
